First ever listed company AGM attended

After holding the share for some years, this year decided to attend the AGM, although the cost to attend is higher than the profit I earned through the dividend, but it is worth to attend to witness how a listed company AGM worked.

As arrived quite early, so just has a walk in Sunway Pyramid, this is one of the property that Sunway Reit owned, and it means I one of the owner of this mall (super tiny shareholder, haha).

Even the mall is quite old, but surprisingly the occupancy of this mall quite high, thus it has show me I hold a right stock.

By 1 pm, the packed food ready, so just get my registration done and take the annual report and my packed food.

There is no surprise for me to see so many senior citizen in the hall, as from newspaper, I can see most of the AGM attendants are senior citizen (Maybe they too free and can have free lunch here, haha).

The food is quite good, but they shall provide some table and more sitting area for the shareholder to eat, or maybe this year more people attend that cause not enough seat during the lunch.

The lunch is quite long and this make me feel bored, but this also due to I arrived early as I can see many people come after 2 pm.

Around 3 pm, we allowed to enter the hall and found they really expect low attendants, so use quite a small hall for the events, but after all enter, there is still plenty of seats.

Before we enter, we collected the voting device which I first time to see it, simple and small.
After all the Board member enter, the meeting began and they start to let the shareholder ask and share their opinion, but this seems only few familiar face to voice out as the chairman can really recognize the person.

But just a bit disappointment is the Board members didn't make any special report or progress, they just report what has written in the annual report.

After one hour, the meeting end.

I think I won't attend this AGM in near future, but will look forward to attend other company AGM just can compare.

Manila Trip 2017

Day trip to Manila, this is a challenging trip for myself, although this not my first trip to Manila, but it is a trip that I took public transport myself without any accompany to the city, the journey took me 1.5 hours to reach the city center.
Scene from the bus along the Skyway (Another faster expressway than highway)
This trip only focus in Intramuros area, an old city in the center of Manila during colonial period, is very similar to Malacca, but I feel they reserve it much better than Malacca, at least the old wall still remains around the city.

One of the entrance to Intramuros
In fact, the transportation in Manila is quite convenient, just u dare to take or not, as we need jump up the jeepney like the local, no need worry about the fare, just prepare 20 peso and tell the driver where you want to drop, then they will pay back you the balance, so no worry at all and my experience, most of the time, I only paid minimum fare which only 8 pesos since the travel distance also not far.

This trip just a simple trip without much plan, but do really thanks to the hotel staff where I stay as they so worry about my safety when I told them I want travel to the city myself, so they prepare all the emergency contact for all on duty hotel staff, then the intramunos map and places to eat and visit, also keep ask me don't go too far and come back too late since there might not have bus back to the town where I stay in late night.

National Museum

One of touched place I visited is the National Museum, as we can see a lot of local especially student visited to the museum and they really make effort to understand the exhibited items which I can't see in my own country, we only can see tourist visit to the museum, even local students is like force to go museum with the arrangement by the school teachers or just for assignment purpose.

Although Philippines is consider a poor country, but their kids has done a good part in education and I would said if not the political issue, they has ability to become a great nation among the SEA with these kids.

San Agustin Church
Inside Intramunos, there are a lot churches to visit, San Agustin Church is in my top list, not just because of the historical value, but the architecture of the building itself.

Manila Cathedral

Manila Cathedral has a magnificent view and need go quite far just able to capture the whole building view.

Fort Santiago

Halo Halo
After long day walked (really walked from 10am until 4pm), found a small stall selling the Halo Halo which quite famous in Philippines, so I bought one and try, found that our ice kacang is much much better, haha......so that is my first also my last time to try the Halo Halo, I would suggest to try their other deserts instead of this Halo Halo.

Automation Myth

Has been worked for 13 years, experience the transformation of the industry from semi auto until Industrial 4.0 & IoT (Internet of Things).

All these years, even until today, there is still a myth to general public, automation is to replace human and human will lose job due to automation.

But I would said in this world, no matter is humans, animals or things, it will be replaced if there is no improvement or evolution of itself.

Why there is such myths in general public?

Few reason I would noticed:

First, from government, the way government to encourage industry for automation is by showing them how much labour cost can be reduce instead of how the society growth with automation.

Second, from education, the lack of understanding of the purpose and benefit of automation to general public that mislead them to think the automation will kill their future.

Third but not last, the ability of utilize the technology and proper guideline of the implementation that caused the implementation of automation become very costly and not effective, thus nobody willing to spend time to improve it.

So from all these finding, the most important points is to improve our education system so that general public can understood the purpose and benefit of automation. Then people who involve can collaborate to reduce the cost and difficulty in the implementation of automation.
